There are plenty of reasons why you would want to store one or several of your video game consoles. You may be planning a move or need some extra room in your home for a while. If this is the case, there are ways to store the game system so that it stays in shape and doesn’t get broken. Follow these steps and you’ll be sure to play those consoles yet again.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Video Game Console
  • Original Box
  • Bubble Wrap
  • Adequate Storage Space
Step1
Keep the original boxes. These boxes are tailor made for storing each individual console. When you buy a new video game system, keep the box and all of the extras inside.
Step2
Put the console back as you found it. Try to put everything in the box the way it came. This will insure that the console stays snug.
Step3
Fill the empty spaces with bubble wrap. You may find that the original box will have some empty spaces. Just to be safe, fill these up with bubble wrap or crumpled newspaper.
Step4
Stack boxes in a secure area. Avoid keeping it on a wobbly table or in an area where something could easily go wrong. You never know what might happen.
Step5
Stack lighter boxes onto heavy boxes. Be careful not to put anything too heavy on your video game console box or you may end up with squashed goods.
Step6
Keep in an even temperature room with low humidity. This will help prevent any environmental defects with your video game system.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to pack all of the cords in the console box as well. This way, you know which cord goes with which system. You won’t lose them or get them mixed up.
