Gain related experience in your home town. Most ski area jobs want employees that have experience in the hospitality industry. If you are applying as a ski or snowboard instructor, while some resorts accept newbies, having experience at your local hill is definitely a plus.

  6. Step 6

Compare the cost of housing with the amount you will earn on your job. Can you afford it? Some areas, such as Copper Mountain have on-mountain employee housing. Other towns, such as Vail and Breckenridge are in the process of creating affordable employee housing throughout the town.

  7. Step 7

Some jobs will require a Colorado driver's license. However, you will need proof of residency before getting one, so secure housing arrangements before you apply.
