How to Start a Club
Starting a club is a great way to create a reason for friends to get together and enjoy a common interest. Clubs often have a theme and a cause and can provide terrific camaraderie. Starting your club and making it official, however, can be a big step.

1
Determine what the nature of your club will be. Every club needs a goal or a basic premise. If your club is designed to watch sporting events, determine which events you will watch. If your club is to help a good cause, determine what that cause will be. Each club needs an overriding effort to it.

2
Name your club. This is generally a fun process for all those involved. The best way to do this is to have everyone brainstorm individually for club name ideas and submit them together. The name of the group should be determined by a vote, so that it is democratic and keeps everyone happy.

Select officers. A club should hold regular meetings and should have a leader. It should be determined what the roles of the officers will be. Ordinarily, your club should at least have someone who determines when and where the club will meet. Select officers by a majority vote for the fairest results.

4
Create rules for your club. When you elect officers, you should also chose a group of people to come up with the rules or by-laws of the organization. These rules will dictate how to determine when new members are allowed to join the club, how much dues will be and how to determine how the money of the club is spent.

5
Start a bank account. This can be as simple as one of the club members keeping the club's money in an old box somewhere or actually having a physical bank account at a local bank. Either way, having someone in charge of the money and bookkeeping is a good idea when starting your new club.
