Step1
BPH usually is asymptomatic until it has enlarged to the extend that it compresses on the urethra, the tube through which urine passes out of the body, then many urinary problems can be seen, such as, difficulty in starting urination or discomfort during urination. There could be increase or decrease in frequency of urination, reduction in flow, urgency, and a sensation that the bladder is not empty.
Step2
Prostatitis is inflammation of the prostate gland and is a very serious condition which can lead to death if not treated immediately by the doctor. There are three separate conditions to recognize. The most serious is Acute Bacterial Prostatistis, the second, is Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis, and the third is most commonly diagnosed called Chronic Non-bacterial Prostatitis, where no bacteria is found.
Step3
Signs and symptoms that present in these conditions can be problems in urination, lower backache, painful ejaculation, bloody semen, . Prostatitis conditions can also have symptoms of low or high grade fevers, chills, flu-like symptoms, pain in the scrotum and prostate gland on top of the other fore-mentioned signs and symptoms associated with prostate problems. it is very important to seek medical advice and treatment for these conditions sine antibiotics is needed to treat these bacterial infections. Prostatic cancer usually presents as PAINLESS unilateral symptom when doing a self prostate exam. Usually you can feel an abnormal lump with or without any associated discoloration of the skin or scrotum. early detection by self examination is highly recommended in men to prevent this cancer.
Step4
Zinc is helpful to preventing prostate problems since it is essential for semen production. take 30 milligrams per day along with 2 milligram of copper to keep these minerals in balance in the body
Step5
Eat tomatoes since it contains lycopene, a compound that produces the red color. It has been found that higher intake levels of this vegetable reduces the risks of getting prostate problems
Step6
Pumpkin seeds have high content levels of phytosterols and zinc which are essential for maintaining healthy prostate glands. It is recommeded to take 1-2 teaspoons of ground pumpkin seeds mixed in fresh squeeze juices twice a day.
Step7
Take sitz bath. Fill a tub with a foot of warm water and sit to soak in the bath for about 15 minutes once a day. This will help bring heat to the body and the prostate glands and help to relax the lower abdominal muscles which helps to reduce inflammation and decrease pain and urgency.
Step8
Wear loose, preferably, cotton briefs since this fabric helps the body skin to "breathe" and reduces restriction to blood flow to the gland and allows waste products to flow out.
Step9
Try herbs like saw palmetto or African pygeum. The former is similar to the synthetic drug, finisteride, a commonly prescribed testosterone-lowering drug which helps to reduce frequency of urination, stronger urinary flow. the latter herb can be used to reduce inflammation in the gland. it is always advice to consult your doctor before starting any herbal treatments.
Step10
Nettle root have been found to possess anti-inflammatory and steroidal properties that can help to alleviate some of the symptoms of BPH and prostatitis.
Step11
STOP SMOKING. Research data have found that smoking over 35 cigarettes per day increases the risks of getting BPH compared to non-smokers.
Step12
Exercising and walking can reduce the chances of prostate problems, especially BPH. It increases the body' s circulation and blood flow around the body especially to the prostate gland and keeps them heathy and disease -free. Try to be less sedentary and more mobile since sitting for long hours places increase pressure and prevents circulation from being diminished in that area of the body which could exacerbate the symptoms.
Step13
Learn to do a regular monthly Self Prostate Exam to prevent and early screening of possible prostate cancer and prostate problems. How to do this exam can be found on the link accompanying this article below.
Step14
Try to avoid taking flu or cold medications since decongestants and antihistamines can cause muscle contraction making urination flow more difficult. For allergies take allergy medication that doesn't contain antihistamines.
Step15
Don't restrict water intake since this could cause dehydration and increase the risk of getting urinary tract infections. Drinking adequate amount of water is important for healthy kidney functions.
To decrease the nighttime bathroom visits try to not drink after 7:00pm. Empty the bladder before going to bed.
Step16
More frequent ejaculation of semen can also help the prostate glands maintain its healthy blood flow since muscles surrounding the prostate gland contracts during ejaculation. The bacterial causing the prostatisits doesn't not transfer to the sexual partner through sexual intercourse so you don't have to worry about this issue when engaging in sexual intercourse when recovering from prostatitis.
