On a limited budget for halloween costumes? Don't like anything you see in the store? Why not try making your costume? Here I will tell you how to come up with costume ideas using not so costly items.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Water-based face paints
  • Small towel
  • Glitter
  • Glue
  • Paintbrushes (fine and broad)
  • Water
  • Poster paints
  • Thick paper
  • Headband
  • Soft scarf
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Pencil
  • String

Step1
Facepainting is a great way to dress up for halloween or just playing dress up without it costing too much. You can paint your face as a tiger, lion, or clown. Here I will use a clown.
Step2
options.net First you can make green or red ovals around the eyes, then paint a red nose and large mouth. Then just highlight around the eyes and mouth with white or silver paint and put glitter, stars or whatever you want to your face. Clowns are basically red, and white.
Step3
If you want a hat to go with it, you can make one using black, red, green, or white thick paper. Cut a narrow piece of paper and measure your head with it. Use this piece and put it on top of the thick paper, tape it and draw a circle inside of it. Removethe aper and cut around both circles. This is your brim.
Step4
Cut paper the length that you want your hat to be. If you want a top hat cut a long piece, if you want a regular hat cut a shorter piece. For a top hat it should be about 6 1/4 inches tall. For a regular hat it would be half of that. Roll to fit inside the brim and tape it on the inside. If you use a white you can paint it different colors to add to your clown face. Then just add some clothing and your all set.

Tips & Warnings

  • These ideas can be used just for fun not only for Halloween.
