Take Stock - Look in the mirror and find at least three things that you really like about yourself. There are hopefully a lot more than three, but take three things at a time. Focusing on the positive things in life will make you a happier and a better person.
Step2
Love Thyself - Tell yourself everyday, in the mirror that you are beautiful. Now, do it a second time and really mean it. Everyone is beautiful in his own way and vital to humanity. Everyone has done good and bad things in life. Forgive yourself for past mistakes and move on.
Step3
Know Thyself - Learn your strengths and make them stronger. If it is your wit, read books, watch comedians, develop your own comedy routine, even if you never do stand up work. If you love to dance, practice every day. Teach yourself new steps and follow dance trends. Enjoy what you do and do what you enjoy.
Step4
Play Up Your Assets - Those three things you love about yourself may be your eyes, your body or your inquisitive mind. Whatever they are, work on them. Make them better, celebrate the wonderful, unique parts of you. You deserve to love yourself and be loved by others.
Step5
Balance = Don’t spend all day doing one thing, like playing computer games. Work a little, play a little and love a lot. Also, avoid watching or listening to the news more than once per day. One dose of bad news is more than enough for most anyone.
Step6
Give Back - If you share your talents with others, you will feel great about yourself. Sing Christmas carols at a rest home. Help kids recovering from surgery at the hospital one morning per week if you can. Read stories to the blind. There is no better way to beat the blues than to help someone else beat theirs. Get up out of your chair and spread some joy!
Step7
Smile - Smile at other people and you will be surprised that almost everyone smiles back. Try it.
