Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
First Fridays is a monthly party at the Guggenheim museum. General admission is $25 a person, and there is always a massive line to get in. The best thing to do is get a membership. For as little as $75 a year, you can skip to the front of the line.
Step2
If your not sure about plunking down the cash, find a member to go with for a test drive. Some of the perks you'll enjoy include free admission at all parties and access to members room with open bar. The only downside about membership is that the Guggenheim doesn't change their exhibits all that often, but you're here to party--right? Step3
Get there early. Even with a membership it is important to get there early. The party starts at nine and arriving then ensures you quick access to the members lounge which fills up quickly. If you arrive after ten, be prepared to wait. It can be upwards of an hour to get to the much coveted open bar as the museum reaches capacity.
Step4
Drinks are not allowed in the galleries, so load up before viewing for the ultimate effect. The members lounge is separate from the DJs. Have a few drinks in the lounge. Before you leave, take another drink or two with you to the main area. Most people do not dance, but if the spirit moves you feel free.
Step5
Once you have finished your drinks, you're ready to check out the exhibits. Usually only the main exhibit is on display for the party. If there's another exhibit you want to see, it's best to come back during normal museum hours.
Step6
Some people like to take the elevator up and walk down and others like to walk up and then down to be able to revisit favorite pieces of art. Choose one and Enjoy. The curves of the the Guggenheim will look different after a few or more drinks.
