Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    If the seat you are removing is electric then you will need to disconnect the battery before removing. Make sure that you record the preset radio stations and that you have the security code for the radio before you disconnect the battery.

  2. Step 2

    If required, disconnect the battery. Make sure you wear hand protection and safety glasses when working around the battery and always disconnect the negative cable first.

  3. Step 3

    Remove the front and rear seat track protectors, if equipped.

  4. Step 4

    Next remove the bolts that retain the seat to the vehicle.

  5. Step 5

    If the seat was electric, carefully lift the seat if you need to gain access to the wiring. Carefully unplug all electrical connectors.

  6. Step 6

    Have an assistant help you remove the car seat through the doorway.

  7. Step 7

    With the help of an assistant, reinstall seat through the car's doorway.

  8. Step 8

    Reconnect wiring.

  9. Step 9

    Reinstall the seat bolts and torque to specifications.

  10. Step 10

    Reinstall the seat track protectors.

  11. Step 11

    Observing safety precautions, reconnect the battery, connect negative cable last.
