How to Delete Cache data in Internet Explorer 7

while surfing the web, a lot of cache date is being saved on our computer, which slows our internet speed. it is strongly recommended to delete all our cache data every once in a while, to prevent this.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • IE 7
  1. Step 1
    Tools
     
    Tools

    go to the top menu of IE 7 and press TOOLS

  2. Step 2
    Internet Options
     
    Internet Options

    then, click "Internet Options"

  3. Step 3
    Delete...
     
    Delete...

    on the next window, press "delete..." button

  4. Step 4
    Delete Cache History
     
    Delete Cache History

    The next window that will open, is delete all browser history. you can choose which cache history you would like delete. if you want to delete only file (it is all ways recommended to do so), if you want to delete only cookies so you press "Delete Cookies", and so on.
    you might need to wait for several minutes, if there is a lot of cache in you computer.

  5. Step 5

    when it deletion ends, click close, and then OK, close your browser, and you're done.

Tips & Warnings
  • it is recommended to delete ALL cache at least once a month
  • if you delete cookies/passwords your login details will no more be remembered by the browser and you will need to login again.

on 1/11/2008 Great idea deleting files that you do not need to save room. A defragmentation is recommended after your delete them and to make it less time consuming you can set it up for some files to be deleted every time you close your browser window. Thanks for the information.
