How to Make Fortified Yogurt

Through all eras and ages, Yogurt has played an important part. Regardless of the country or language, it has the same meaning-Long Life. And making Yogurt is like making coffee, there are some dos and don’ts.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Powdered Skim Milk, Milk, Mason Jar, Blender, Yogurt, Shawl, Milk Bottle

Step1
Use a ½ cup of powdered skim milk to 1 quart of milk and shake in a mason jar
Step2
Heat this mixture until it’s good and hot, but do not let it boil
Step3
Into this hot milk, stir in 3 tbsp of ready-made yogurt
Step4
Pour mixture into milk bottle, or a double boiler, or any utensil, and place it in warm water, near the pilot light of your stove or near a radiator
Step5
Cover it with a shawl
Step6
Wait 5 hours

  • One cup gives you 221 calories and 13.9 grams of protein. Lactose supplies 79 of those calories. You absorb only 50 percent; the calories per cup become about 180
