Opening up a new Day Care home can be fun and exciting. You love children and you look forward to helping them, serving them, teaching them and caring for them. Although you are looking forward to opening up and running your business, it is important to have a contract for your clients to read, agree to and sign to establish guidelines for your business.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Think about what's important. Write down what you want included in your contract; such as the time all children must be dropped off at your home and picked up, the days you are closed for business during the year and even the guidelines for distributing medicine to children in your care.

  2. Step 2

Ask at least two other Child Care Providers if you can view their contracts. Their contracts should give you ideas as to what to include in your contract and how to organize it. You may also discover other important items that you had not considered.

  3. Step 3

Prepare a draft of your contract. Arrange your contract in the way that you would like it to be presented to your clients.

  4. Step 4

Type your contract. Make sure that you proofread and edit your contract. Make sure that spelling and grammar is correct.

  5. Step 5

Ask someone else to proofread your contract for you also.

  6. Step 6

Type the finished version of your contract. Make several copies to distribute to your clients.
