How to effortlessly removed burned on food from pots and pans

Clean pots and pans effortlessly!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • scorched pot or pan
  • dishwasher soap
  • hot water
  • scouring pad
  1. Step 1

    Rinse pot to remove excess food

  2. Step 2

    Add 2 tablespoons dishwasher soap
    (if using caked soap, cut in half)

  3. Step 3

    Add hot tap water

  4. Step 4

    Let sit overnight (or minimum 6 hours)

  5. Step 5

    gently scrub with scouring pad

  6. Step 6

    rinse and wash

Tips & Warnings
  • this also works beautifully with coffee makers. Follow the same steps and the coffee pot and filter holder will come out sparkling clean!

on 10/12/2009 Oh, how I wished this had worked. Unfortunately, I still have a very hard crust of burned sugar this morning. Next step? Try the stove and boiling water method.

on 11/25/2007 That's just about what I've done, except I used only a small amount of Dawn, with no result. For a large stockpot, would i need more than 2 rablespoons?
