You would want to setup you body whether you are hitting on the driver or an iron. You should set up with the ball opposite of the left armpit. Then place your hands slightly ahead of the clubhead.
Step2
Getting your body in the right place will allow you to get a great swing. So bend your knees at a slight decrease, where it will give you some flexibility. It is good to have your legs at shoulders length.
Step3
The most important part of the pre-swing drill is to keep your eyes on the ball, and your chin tucked in. You also want to make sure you open up your waist, and allow movement. When you get your hips ready it will allow you to be more agile when you get into your swinging motion.
Tips & Warnings
Remember to keep the arms around the thigh area, and don't go below the knees. Always keep your eyes on the ball from start to finish, and follow through on the swing.
Don't ever take you eyes off the ball. Don't ever bend your knees to much where your hips won't open up. (Charles Barkey's swing)

Thanks! I've been practicing my swing out at a nearby baseball field. It takes a lot more coordination and practice than I thought it would!
