How to Make Preservative for Newspaper Clippings!

This preservative will prevent any newspaper clipping from turning yellow as long as you keep the clipping out of direct sunlight!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Club Soda
  • Large Bowl
  • Milk of Magnesia tablet
  • Large Cookie sheet with sides
  1. Step 1

    Pour 1 quart of warm club soda into a large bowl. Drop one tablet of milk of magnesia into the club soda and let it sit overnight to dissolve.

  2. Step 2

    Place the cookie sheet on a flat surface. Then pour in 1/4 inch of preservative solution.

  3. Step 3

    Place newspaper clippings in liquid and let set until thoroughly saturated. About a minute! Using a spatula, remove the clipping keeping it flat. Lay the clipping out to dry on a flat surface.

Tips & Warnings
  • Makes 1 quart
  • Use caution when mixing chemicals!
