Don't ignore feelings of sad but sadness or hopelessness. If you experience these feelings for more than a few weeks, need to talk to someone about depression. Depression can affect many areas of your life, including work, friendships, and personal relationships.

See Your Doctor

Antidepressants are useful drunks are some people who feel overwhelmingly depressed. Antidepressants need to be used with caution filled because they do have side effects and it can be difficult to stop taking them. You can also take several weeks to several months to figure out the proper dosage that will work for you.

Stress Relief
If you don't find answers from your doctor, consider seeing a psychologist. He will be able to work with you in other ways and minimize or eliminate the need for antidepressant drugs.

Research Side Effects
Do your own research. Find out what side effects each medication had and if one might be an option for you. You have the right to refuse treatment if you don't want to take antidepressants. Ask what other methods might help ease your depression.
