Watch for the bargains. Don't buy Dynamite at $259, it's a good deal at about $100. Try not to pay too much for it. If you don't buy anything from the shopkeeper, he'll get mad and drop his prices (most of the time).

Decide what items work best for you. The Strength Drink and Dynamite are the most universally useful items. You take a gamble buying the rest of the items, since you may not get any Gems or rocks in a given level, and if there aren't any, you've wasted your money on an item with no value. If you're becoming strapped for cash between levels, just buy Strength Drinks and Dynamite. At very high levels, it will become necessary to buy items like Gem Polish, simply because you need a boost to get through the level unless you've got a huge lead on money. Expert players recommend buying Gem Polish every time, no matter the cost.

Grab those Gems! Gems are far and away the quickest way to meet your daily quota. The catch is that they're also usually the hardest to get. Blow up loot around them if you have to, but try your hardest for the Gems.

Learn which levels have Gems in them. The first 10 levels of the game are always the same. After that, the levels begin to repeat at random. Learning the layout of the levels will give you a huge advantage later on.

Try to remain patient. It's all too easy to cast your line at the first gem you see, but take your time and make sure you've got the right angle before you cast. Casting and missing takes about three seconds, so if you wait just a second or two before casting, you've already saved time.

Move the cart to get a better angle. If you're playing Gold Miner Vegas, you have the option to move the mining cart you're sitting in. While this can eat up valuable time, it can also give you a much better angle on that elusive Gem.
