Most schools don't allow cellphones in class or any electronic devices for that matter. Here are few tips you can use to help you not get caught if you need to use your cellphone.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First of all, decide whether or not the call/text message will be worth it. Do you really need to make the call/text message? If the answer is yes, then continue on.

  2. Step 2

Secondly, turn your phone on vibrate. If your phone is loud when it vibrates, then it may be a better idea to turn the phone on silent. Also make sure the person you are calling also has the phone turned to silent or they may get their cellphone taken away in class.

  3. Step 3

Now, slide your cellphone gently into the sleeve of your jacket and wait a few minutes. Wait till the teacher is reading something out of the book, at her desk, or helping another student. Make sure he/she is not focused on you.

  4. Step 4

With your cellphone in the sleeve of the jacket, pull it out and put the jacket with the cellphone in it under the desk. Position it so the jacket is partly covering the cellphone but you can still see it. This way if the teacher happens to walk by you can quickly hide your cellphone without looking suspicious.

  5. Step 5

    IF YOU ARE TEXT MESSAGING:
Text messaging in class is much easier than making a call. Quietly write your message. Look up every two words to make sure the teacher isn't looking at you. If the teacher is reading something out of the book and she suddenly pauses then make sure you stop the text message and hide the cellphone; she may be looking at you. If you are waiting on a text message keep the phone on vibrate and hold it in your hand with the jacket covering it. Having your phone in your pocket while it is vibrating can make a loud clacking noise that is very noticeable.

  6. Step 6

IF YOU ARE MAKING A CALL:
Making calls in class is a lot trickier than text messaging. Most of the time you can't call another student because you do not know if they will be able to answer. Most students make calls to their parents if they want to go home, or their friends who may be absent. To make a call, slip the cell phone into the sleeve of the jacket. Slip your arm down the sleeve of the jacket and hold on to the cellphone. Lean your head on your hand like you are sleepy and you will be able to hear the cellphone ring. When the teacher is not paying attention you can talk quietly and make sure it is not noticeable.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure your volume is not all the way up on your cellphone so people can't hear it when it is ringing.
  • Always make sure your ringer is turned off
  • Make the calls and text messages fast, do not take forever!
  • If you are not careful, your cellphone will be taken away.
