Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Baby
- Diapers
- Baby Wipes
- Hand Sanitizer
- Diaper Cream (optional)
- changing pad/towel/blanket
Step1
First, make sure you have everything you need within reach, Including the new diaper, baby wipes, diaper cream if needed and hand sanitizer.
Step2
Lay baby on a flat surface on a changing pad, towel or blanket.
Step3
Remove pants, or if wearing a one piece outfit, unbutton just the legs and the pull the outfit up around baby's waist.
Step4
Pull the diaper fasteners open. Holding onto the top/front part of the diaper, wipe down towards baby's bottom and lift baby slightly up by the leg to get underneath and front of diaper is against the back.
Step5
Place baby's bottom back down so butt is on top of the now folded diaper. (this keeps the mess from getting onto your changing surface)
Step6
Take a baby wipe and work from front to back. If your are changing a girl, NEVER wipe from back to front. Make sure you wipe inbetween the rolls on their inner thighs.
Step7
As you finish with each wipe, push it unter baby's bottom with the dirty side down against the dirty diaper. With the last wipe, hold baby's leg to gently lift his bottom off the ground and wipe his lower back if needed and then remove the diaper and the wipes.
Step8
Roll the bottom of the diaper up over the dirty wipes and then use the fasteners to make a neat (although dirty inside) package that will not let as much smell out and will not let any poop escape.
Step9
Take clean diaper and use it to fan the baby's bottom for a few seconds to help them dry off. If baby is red/rashy, apply diaper ointment/cream.
Step10
Open the fasteners on new diaper. Slide the back of the diaper (the side with the fasteners) under baby's bottom, put baby's legs down and then pull the front of the diaper up. Fasten the diaper.
Step11
Use hand sanitizer
Step12
dress baby and you are done!
