How to Clean Tarnished Silver Without Polishing

Silver polish can be expensive and using it is hard work. But you don’t have to go through all of that to get your silver things clean. All you need is a little know-how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Place a sheet of aluminum foil at the bottom of your sink.
Step2
Fill the sink half-way with lukewarm water.
Step3
Add two tablespoons of salt.
Step4
Place your silver pieces in the water. Allow them to soak for about 10 minutes.
Step5
Ionization will occur and the tarnish will transfer to the aluminum foil.
Step6
Take the silver piece out of the water and dry with a soft cloth.
