Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Recipes
- Appropriate foods
Step1
Plan a buffet menu! Rather than serving guests a plated meal, plan a buffet with simple dishes, so that guests can help themselves and choose their own foods.
Step2
Select uncomplicated dishes that aren't too heavy on ingredients. The fewer ingredients in each dish, the less of a chance that a guest will pass up on a particular item.
Step3
Use neutral ingredients. When possible, use olive oil instead of butter (for dairy-free or vegan guests), vegetable stock or water in place of meat stocks, and be sure to leave nuts off the menu, as they are the most common food allergen.
Step4
Sauces on the side! Let guests choose the amount of sauce they wish to use, if any at all.
Step5
Guests will almost certainly ask what they can bring to the party. If you know that a particular guest can be an especially fussy eater, tell them you would love for them to bring their favorite dish for the party.
Step6
Don't forget dessert! A great choice would be a flourless chocolate cake, served with a side of freshly cut fruit, and non-dairy whipped topping.
