Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Practicing procedures provides ways for the classroom to be managed appropriately. For example, if students are told to line up on the wall before checking roll, that is considered a procedure. With procedures, they know what to do and in what order.
Step2
Procedures become routines. Once procedures become second-nature, they turn into routines. With constant practice, students will automatically do certain things without being told. For example, when a routine is mastered, students will be lined up before being told to line up against the wall.
Step3
It's important to give praise to students. When maintaining an effective classroom, giving praise allows students to believe in themselves and the work they are doing. Thus, providing them with such encouragement will generate success.
Step4
Providing lessons that require hands-on work, is an effective way to maintain and manage your classroom. It's imperative for students to engage in such activities to create a more learning environment.
Step5
Having a reward system for students allows students to achieve their goals. You may want to use food coupons or other rewards to help in rewarding students.
