How to Eat out without gaining weight

Don't you just love eating out at a restaurant? You get to relax. You don't have to do the cooking. You don't have to wash any dishes. You can have the meal you want and so can the rest of your family. Trouble is that eating out is so much fun that we tend to overdo it; we tend to over eat.

We all want to loose weight, right? Yet, we don't want to completely cut out the fun of eating out once in a while. If you follow these simple steps, maybe you won't have to stop eating out and you still won't gain weight.

Things You'll Need:

  • Willpower
  • Water
  1. Step 1

    Plan what you want to order before you get to the restaurant. If you have been there before, chances are you know what they serve. Think about what you can eat and enjoy, that also won't completely blow all your past hard work of dieting.

  2. Step 2

    If you have been especially good at dieting and exercising, allow yourself one treat item. It isn't like you plan on eating out every night, right?

  3. Step 3

    Sit in a quiet spot. Don't sit near windows or in front of any television sets. You don't want to be distracted on what is going on around you and forget and eat too much, right?

  4. Step 4

    Order first. If you order after everyone else and they order tempting french fries or other tasty dishes, you will be more apt to give into temptation and say, "I'll have what he/she is having, too."

  5. Step 5

    Eat slowly. Remember good manners. Don't talk with your mouth full. Chew. Make your food last.

  6. Step 6

    Do sip at the cold water that is offered with your meal. It will help you fill up faster.

    Do stay away from the tempting breads.

  • Order before others.
  • Do not starve yourself before the meal.
