How to Meet Someone at a Wedding

Everyone knows that weddings are a great opportunity to meet someone new. Two sets of families and friends come together and there are always single people at a wedding. Chances are that if your at a wedding you already look your best. Get your best wedding attire ready and read on. You will be a step closer to a potential new date.

• A Wedding Invite

1. Arrive at the wedding on time. Being punctual has an added benefit you can keep on the look out for people who are single and someone you might be interested in talking to, sharing a cocktail or dancing with later.
2. Approach someone and make small talk about the wedding. Complement them on their outfit. If there is a small connection or spark of interest consider asking them to dance. If there is no connection politely excuse yourself and go to the ladies room. Weddings come and go in a flash and you don't want to waste time talking to someone you are not interested in. Be polite. Remember you are trying to find a potential date not bruise someone's ego.
3. If there is a spark of interest with someone be friendly and flirtatious. Ask him to dance. If she hates to dance but you are enjoying her company ask her if she'll at least dance on the next slow one. Continue to meet people but make sure you come back to find her on the next slow dance.
4. Don't complain about problems you are having at your job or with your sister. Only talk about light hearted and fun subjects. Talk about the kind of music the DJ is playing or discuss where the couple is planning to go on there honeymoon. This is not the time for long discussions on religion or politics.
5. Make a date for the following weekend. Let the person know how much you enjoyed spending time with them. Suggest getting together the next weekend for cocktails, coffee or a movie. Give them your email and telephone number.
