Homemade wedding favors provide each guest with a personalized token to remember the special event and an edible favor lets them enjoy the celebration even after it is over. Make a tasty little bride and groom from a pair of strawberries and some scrumptious white and dark chocolate. To present the treat, wrap each decadent pair in cellophane squares and top off the favors with colorful tulle or satin ribbon.

  • Large long-stemmed strawberries
  • White chocolate
  • Double boiler (or microwave)
  • Wax paper
  • Dark or milk chocolate
  • Pastry bag
  • Tiny round icing tip
  • Cellophane wrap
  • Satin or tulle ribbon

Instructions

      Wash the strawberries. Pat them dry with paper towels. Use two strawberries for each guest, one for the bride and one for the groom.

      Melt white chocolate over a double boiler or heat in the microwave for about 30 seconds at a time. Stir as the chocolate melts and remove from heat once most of the chocolate has melted. Continue to stir until completely melted.

      Dip each strawberry in the white chocolate, let the excess chocolate drizzle off, and then place them on a piece of wax paper to firm.

      Melt dark or milk chocolate over the double boiler or in the microwave. Dip half of the strawberries in the chocolate. Leave a triangle of white chocolate exposed at the top of the strawberry on one side to make the dress shirt under the tuxedo. Set the strawberries on the wax paper and transfer all of the strawberries to the refrigerator to firm for about 20 minutes.

      Take the strawberries out of the refrigerator. Fill a pastry bag with tiny round icing tip with some of the melted white chocolate. Drizzle a crisscross pattern across the bottom half of the white chocolate-covered strawberries to decorate the wedding dress. Dot a small pearl necklace across the top of the strawberries.

      Fill the pastry bag with some of the milk or dark chocolate and make buttons and a bow tie on the white section of each of the tuxedo strawberries. Put the strawberries in the refrigerator to cool for 20 to 30 minutes.

      Wrap each pair of wedding dress and tuxedo strawberries in a piece of cellophane wrap and tie the wrap closed with a tulle or satin ribbon. Store the favors in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
