Paper Mummies

With these simple instructions, you will be on your way to making a Paper Mummy! Don't worry too much about the folds; mummies look best if they are a bit messy! Stick these heads to a popsicle stick for great little stick puppets or table decorations!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Popsicle sticks (optional)
  • Square pieces of paper
  • Tape
  • Googly eyes
  • Felt tip pens
  1. Step 1

Start with a square piece of paper. Now begin to fold it back and forth, randomly, to form 4 folds. Try to make some of the folds at an angle.

  2. Step 2

Fold the edges in towards the center. This can be a little tricky as you will have to smooth the folds to keep the mummy’s shape. Don’t be too worried, though, as it all adds to the effect.

  3. Step 3

Now shape the head by folding in the bottom and top as shown. You can also pinch in the sides if you like.

  4. Step 4

One of our mummies has a pair of googly eyes. The other has features drawn on with black felt tip. A little bit of tape and a couple of popsicle sticks turns our paper mummies into rather cute stick puppets!
