On a daily basis a child with Cerebral Palsy may have a few difficulties doing things that normal people would do. Having difficulties has an affect on that person

  1. Step 1

    Do breathing techniques when the child becomes frustrated when they attempt to do something like tying a shoe

  2. Step 2

    If the child becomes irate and out of control, let the child play out the fit until he or she becomes tired

  3. Step 3

    Always think that the child is normal and can do anything he or she sets his or her mind to doing

  4. Step 4

    If the child gets hurt just as any other child does, do not worry. Cry if you must and tend to the child

  5. Step 5

    Have quality time with the child to find common ground in making the child feel comfortable in his or her surroundings

  6. Step 6

    Search for therapist who may have experience in the field of a person with cerebral palsy

  7. Step 7

    Have the church family be a part of the child's life so that the child will know that he or she is loved

Tips & Warnings
  • Love the child like any other child
  • do not show favoritism if there is more than one child
  • do not force the child to do anything they do not want to do
