How to Rescue People Trapped in a Lift

People trapped in a lift can be saved a lot of trauma by anyone outside the lift.
Lifts are provided on tall buildings to facilitate ease of reaching desirable floors.
With this method, you can rescue folks in your neighborhood whenever it happens.
Though the rescue has to be carried out as soon as possible, the rescue process is more like an adventure.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Manual winder,Lift Landing door key
  1. Step 1

    Proceed to the Staircase on whichever floor of the building you are located

  2. Step 2

    Ascend to the overhead Lift equipment room

  3. Step 3

    Switch off the electric power supply

  4. Step 4

    Operate the brake release lever

  5. Step 5

    Note the lift car floor location from the elevation gauge

  6. Step 6

    Pick, insert and rotate the manual winder in a clockwise direction to bring the lift car to the nearest floor to the equipment room

  7. Step 7

    Activate the brake lever to apply the brake

  8. Step 8

    Pick the landing door key

  9. Step 9

    Open the landing door using the key

Tips & Warnings
  • All building lifts have operating equipment room usually located at the top of the building just like they have staircases leading to different floors.
  • The manual winder and landing door key are usually available in the overhead lift machine room
  • Never panic while ascending the staircase to effect the rescue operation

on 10/30/2009 Are you mad, DO NOT TRY THE ABOVE IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOURE DOING. People need a little traning to do the above. If you relase the brake the lift can over speed an pull in the safety gear and then your in a hole heap of trouble. Lifting gear will be required and alot of time. Just call the lift engineers, simple
