Learn how to host a Cookie Party and have everyone go home with several different kinds of scrumptious Cookies and Recipes!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pen.
  • Paper.
  • Small Notecards.
  • Personalized Goodie Bags.
  • Parchment Paper or Wax Paper Squares.
  • Your Favorite Cookie Recipes.
  • Your Favorite Cooks.
  1. Step 1
    Gather your Favorite Recipes and begin inviting friends!

    Grab your pen and paper and jot down who you would like to call and invite them to come to your Cookie Swap. This is an opportunity for them to share their favorite recipes and bring their own homemade baked Cookies. Encourage them to also bring the recipes to the Cookies they are bringing to the Swap. Keep track of who is coming and what they are bringing. Be sure to set a specific date and time. Don't forget to send out Invitations to those who you couldn't personally invite.

    Personalize the guest's Goodie Bags.

    Create individual Goodie Bags to hold all of the guest's Cookies. Medium sized paper bags work fine. Use your pen to personalize each bag with the name of each guest.

  3. Step 3
    Make Recipe Cards ahead of time if possible.

    On the day of the swap, be sure to have several copies of your favorite recipes on note cards displayed near the plate of the Cookies you just baked.

  4. Step 4

    Be sure that every guest is happy and takes home a variety of Cookies.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to have plenty of tabletop space available to display the Cookies.
  • As the host or hostess be sure to plan ahead and bake up an extra dozen or so of a variety of Cookies, just incase there is a small turn out.
  • Try to invite it least 25 people to your Swap, typically half will show up.
  • Prepare extra Goodie Bags for each guest just incase they feel inclined to take home extra goodies!
  • Fill Goodie Bags with several sheets of small cut Wax or Parchment Papers so guests can feel free to keep their Cookies separated.
  • Have extra Note Cards and Pens available and visible to guests.
  • Once your guests arrive, Encourage then to sample as many different Cookies as they want and then have them gather all of their favorite Recipes and Cookies together.
  • Be sure to allow guests to exchange their Recipes and Cookies with one another and fill their bags to the brim with all their Goodies and Cards.
  • Feel free to mention to guests to bring a friend, the more the merrier.
  • Make sure your Cookies are cooled by the time guests arrive.
  • Do not bake or decorate while your guests are there. Use this time to visit and talk to your guests about their baking secrets and techniques.
  • Do not place hot or warm Cookies into Swap Bags.

on 6/21/2008 It also helps if all of the guests bring the same amount of cookies to share or there are all kinds of strange leftovers. I like the personalized cookie bag idea. Thanks for sharing.
