Many fantasy baseball players try to get an advantage any way they can. One strategy that is sometimes employed to win at fantasy baseball is to forfeit one category entirely, or to “punt” it. Punting one category allows you to allocate your resources for all the other categories and to win them. The worry is that if you punt a category you may put too much pressure on your other categories. This is why punting is for the advanced fantasy player and definitely not the beginner.
