Looking back on a vacation, it's nice to have memories that are reflected in the things you picked up along the way. Here is how to find great souvenirs on your next voyage.

1. Make a list of the things you are after that are truly destination specific. Smoked salmon in Alaska, opals in Australia, custom made pajamas in Hong Kong: your destination has a specialty. Research on the internet and take advantage of your location!

2. Think about how will get it back. If you find a one of a kind, painting in India, have the canvas rolled to take onto the plane. For a stack of Chinese silks that won't fit into your suitcase, consider having your the shop ship them to you. Figure in effort and cost of transport before you buy!
