Being Pregnant can be fun, and a trial.
Being Pregnant can be fun, and a trial.

Your friends are offering loads of advice, now that you're pregnant. Here's how to weed through the old wives' tales and find the advice that has a hint of truth behind it.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • the internet!
  • A good OB/GYN or nurse/midwife.
  • patience!
  1. Step 1

Everyone and your mother in law probably have advice for you. Question them closely--without seeming too obviously disbelieving, about where they heard this "true fact about pregnancy". Take everything with a grain of salt.

  2. Step 2

Consult the internet! It contains a wealth of information on pregnancy. Again, check your sources for believability.

  3. Step 3

Trust your gut! If something seems ridiculous, it probably is. Your baby will not necessarily be born horribly allergic to all nuts if you have the occasional PB&J sandwich.

  4. Step 4

Ask your doc or your midwife! They've usually been delivering babies longer than you've been having them. They've been through years of training, know a lot of the old wives' tales and can dispel the myths if necessary!
