A Good position to sleep in while pregnant

Everything changes while you're pregnant. Doctors have new ways to do everything! Even Sleep!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a big body pillow
  • comfortable bed
  • understanding partner
  1. Step 1

During the first part of your pregnancy, how you sleep just depends on how you can get the best sleep. During the first trimester, you'll need lots of it! Sleep as much as you possibly can. Try beginning to train yourself to sleep primarily on your left side if you can, but don't be upset if you end up all over the bed. :)

  2. Step 2

Limit fluids for an hour or two before bed. Going to the bathroom to pee just before light's out will help (at least a little) the midnight trips to the bathroom!

  3. Step 3

During the 2nd trimester, try sleeping only on your left side. Use of a body pillow to prop you up or give you something to hug on can help a lot.

  4. Step 4

During your 3rd trimester, sleep anyway you are comfortable, but avoid sleeping on your back. The weight of the baby, your uterus, and the amniotic fluid can put pressure on an artery in your back, causing your legs to go numb.
