Opening up blocked energies in your home will help you attract more prosperity in your life. Western Feng Shui shows us how to shift our consciousness by shifting the energy in particular areas, or “guas,” of your home. True wealth includes more than just the green stuff; it’s a feeling of abundance in every part of life. To attract more wealth, start by giving thanks for what you already have—from health to relationships to income sources. A feeling of prosperity builds on itself.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wealth enhancements (see article)
  1. Step 1

    Locate Your Wealth Area
Your wealth sector is the far left room as you walk in your front door. This also includes any patios, gardens or garages just outside this area. If you live in a split-level home, include any rooms directly above or below, as well.

  2. Step 2

    Clear Away Clutter
If you have boxes, broken machinery, stacks of books, papers, dead plants or other clutter in this area, clear it away immediately. Remove anything that reminds you of poverty or unhappy times. Make sure furniture, rugs and corners are clean. Clear any cobwebs from the ceilings. If there’s a toilet here, keep the seat down, and fix any leaky pipes or drains.

  3. Step 3

    Add Symbolic Items
The far left corner of the room is the crux of your wealth gua. Adorn it with items that represent wealth, such as a jade or bamboo plant, or purple candles. Drape a belly-dance sash decorated with gold coins at the ceiling, or add a bowl filled with coins. A statue of Ganesh, the elephant-headed Indian god of wealth, would be helpful, as would a bubbling fountain to bring more flow. Be sure to add pictures that represent your dreams and goals.

  4. Step 4

    Activate Your Wealth Area
Burn sage and/or shake a rattle to clear away old energies from the room. Then, invoke helpful spirits or angels and ask them to take up residence there. Spritz the space with a water bottle laced with eucalyptus or lavender oil. Repeat a prosperity affirmation such as, “I am open and ready to receive wealth and abundance in my life.”

  5. Step 5

    Do Ongoing Maintenance
Tend carefully to plants in your wealth gua; replace them if they show signs of ill health. Keep the area clean, repeat your affirmation often, and have faith that results will appear in proper timing. Sit or eat in the area frequently, while thinking wealthy thoughts. Take action to correct any financial imbalances, such as excessive debt.

  6. Step 6

    Be Open to Results
Prosperity may come from unexpected sources. Be receptive to opportunities, even if they don’t fit with your current plans. Spirit may have something else in mind for you. Follow up on any intuitive hunches that point you in new directions.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tips & Warnings: Be careful to not speak negative words about your income status or financial concerns, which can counteract your good efforts. Cancel any such statements as soon as you catch them, and replace with positive affirmations.
