Everybody out there would love to find a High Definition capable television that was a 50 inch flat screen for 500 dollars but the question is how. There are many ways to go about it but you should remember that those types of televisions are sometimes used televisions that were broken brought back and fixed or have been sitting there running for months on the floor room floor. So these televisions may not be worth what you were thinking and selling them at the price there being sold for isn't necessarily as good of a buy as you may of thought. So buyer beware these televisions are already the equivalent of a five to ten year old television. You should always ask how long they have been on the floor because they may have run for 10,000 hours or more already. There is a simple way to find a television like this, always call stores you don't need to travel so much. Ask for the brands, model, prices, if they price match, how many they have, how old it is, and if it is used as a floor model and for how long. Remember new models are usually the same price everywhere and most competitors will price match too grab your business so always check the major realtors online first. You will always have trouble finding deals on newer models, most low prices are closeout or a former defect. So always call first then compare online. And never let a salesperson sell you something more than your looking for the best price is usually the one you were looking to spend. Research, research, research.
Step2
There are three major types of high definition televisions people are sold. They are the DLP, LCD and Plasma. But what are there advantages and disadvantages. First is DLP. They always say the mirrors. A DLP is phenomenal. It gives probably the clearest picture out there cutting out most of they blurriness caused by high definition televisions. Its downside it needs a lot of expensive maintenance at times and doesn't give the ability to hang. Its bulb will burn out and can cost 300 to 800 dollars to replace. The LCD is next and you may ask why to people rave about it. The big reason it can last 20 to 25 years. Which is great to people. But what is wrong with it. Well its cost is one. Two it is susceptible to lemons. Three it can project a lot of blurriness. Also it tends not to produce as many colors but several brand tend to have a lot more attention to detail such as the Bravia. Finally the plasma the most feared and hated. Advantages, well it isn't as expensive sometimes 1500 dollars cheaper than LCD's and it can produce billions and some models trillions of colors. Its one major disadvantage is it may only last 10 to 15 years. For most people though this shouldn't be cause for alarm. Why you ask? Because in 10 to 15 years you'll probably be searching for a new one anyway' s, whether it is DLP, LCD, or Plasma. So the picture on Plasmas is a lot better than one might think.
Step3
There is never a right time to buy. Usually closeout models are low priced and discontinued models are usually dropped in price. Private dealers may be willing to haggle but remember they cant necessarily offer the same prices as the major realtors. The holidays may have some deals going on but you have to remember those are with new models that are usually combined with some other offer. January and February can be a good time to shop, but most likely at private dealers because of the lack of business. The major dealers will run specials but all tend to price match and none is necessarily better than the other even walmart and best buy all are pretty even and online.
Step4
What you should look for are a few things. If you have the money spend it on a top brand DLP because you will rarely regret it with the picture clarity. They do need maintenance but the picture is phenomenal. It your looking for something to last go with the LCD they usually will but they can be lemons. Remember there pictures tend to be good but some people claim the plasmas have a better picture. The plasmas are more affordable can project an enormous amount of colors but tend to be unstable and may burn out. But with all three you should always look for the best most affordable warranty packages three to five years is good but for ten years you will want something new anyways.
Step5
You know the brands that have the best name and price all vary. Panasonic and Hitachi tend to be really good with plasmas. Newer Hitachi models can produce 287 trillion colors. Sony, Toshiba, and Sharp tend to be awesome LCD's. Sony's bravia tends to be the best around, Toshiba's regza tends to be just as good as the Bravia with its own capabilities always research differences. And Sharps Aquos tend not to be as blurry because it projects images at 6 milliseconds and the newer models 4 milliseconds instead of most other brands at 8 milliseconds though its detail tends to lag behind Sony and Toshiba but does much better with picture blurriness.
