Finding a good groomer is important for any dog owner. Every breed of dog should be brought to the groomer on a regular basis. Even a breed with a short coat like a Lab should go to a groomer four times a year.

Things You'll Need:

  • Phone
  • Notebook
  1. Step 1

Make a list of all the groomers in your area. Stop in at each of the ones that you are interested in.

  2. Step 2

Understand that many grooming shops are run by one or two people. They are very busy and may not have time to talk to you when you drop in. Take a look at the place. Does it seem clean, smell clean?

  3. Step 3

If they have time to talk to you, you can ask what their experience is, how long they have been in business, where did they learn from.

  4. Step 4

Take any brochures or information that they may have so you can look it over at a later time.

  5. Step 5

Ask what kind of bathing system and dryers they use. Hot air dryers can be dangerous for some dogs.
