Let’s face it: sometimes you’re just too busy (or lazy) to wash your clothes. While cleaning will eventually become necessary, here are ways to extend the life of your clothes, and keep the Laundromat at arm’s length.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Deodorant
  • A hanging line
  • Drawer space
  • A keen sense of smell

Step1
Deodorant. Minimizing perspiration is crucial to extending the life of your clothes. Develop a routine of applying it both in the mornings and after strenuous or work-related activities.
Step2
Form a rotation. Be sure to swap out items of clothing on a daily basis. This will ensure clothes get evenly used.
Step3
Separate work-out clothes from casual wear. Strong odors tend to lift-off and contaminate others after prolonged contact.
Step4
Hang clothes up after use. Giving clothes a chance to “air out’ will greatly extend their longevity.
Step5
Use the “smell test”. Carefully sniff out items of clothing before putting them on to insure the odors won’t be detectable by others. If they don’t pass, immediately separate them from the bulk of the other clothes.
