How to Dehydrate Papaya

Papaya is full of Vitamin A and makes an unusual fruity alternative to apricots and apples. Dehydrate your papaya for a healthy treat you can take along anywhere. Here are the easy steps for making your own new fruit snack.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Half-ripe papaya
  • Lemon juice
  • Water
  1. Step 1

    Take half-ripe papaya. Peel, remove seeds and rinse.

  2. Step 2

    Slice papaya into 1/2 inch slices.

  3. Step 3

    Soak with 1 cup lemon juice to 1 quart water for two hours.

  4. Step 4

    Arrange on drying rack and dry in the sun (or in oven at 135 degrees)until papaya is not longer bendable. Store in airtight jar or bags for later consumption.
