Things You'll Need:
- A bunch of old crayons.
- A holiday themed cupcake pan (with holiday shapes, ie. heart shaped cupcake pan for Valentines day)
-
Step 1
Have kids peel any paper off the crayons and break up into chunks. (Don't they always want to do that anyway??)
-
Step 2
Mix the different colored chunks together to distribute colors.
Fill up cupcake pans with crayon chunks. -
Step 3
Bake at 250 degrees for ten minutes, or until crayon has melted together.
-
Step 4
Remove from oven and let cool completely. After cooled, remove shapes from pan.
-
Step 5
Smooth edges by rubbing along paper.
DONE!
Put in ziplock bags, tie with a ribbon and distribute to the whole class!
The kids now have their very own, homemade, multicolored crayon to experiment with!
