How to Get the Most from Flickr

Use the options provided by Flickr to do great things with your photos like make books or cards. There are growing numbers of software programs that use Flickr photos in exciting ways.

    Use the Flickr Suggestions

  1. Step 1

    Navigate to the Flickr home page or to the Flickr Do More page to see the suggestions from Flickr.

    One of the coolest is Picnik.com. You edit photos with Picnik. Picnik enhances, crops, removes red-eye, adds effects and does other photo editing. It's free for a basic account.

    If you've tried the complicated image editing software like Photoshop and found it hard to use, you'll love the super easy-to-understand Picnik.

    There are tools that create Flickr uses for specific platforms such as Mac, Windows or Linux.

    Plugins for Wordpress, Moveable Type and blogging platforms are available. Some browser plugins are listed here, too.

    A long list of web applications, some of which were mentioned in this article, can be found. There are ways to make Flickr-based kaleidoscopes, logos and many other things in the list.

    You'll even find a few games involving Flickr listed in this database.

  • If you search Flickr using Bubblr's tag option, remember that you don't have the copyrights to the use other people's images without permission.

on 1/11/2009 Super compilation of the third-party Flickr services. I've used Zazzle to make postage stamps celebrating my father's military service. They were fantastic. My first order of Moo cards is on the way. I'm sure they're as great as everyone says they are. Thanks again. Great article!
