Make a Chopped Salad

Chopped salads are delicious and so healthy for you. When it comes to preparing it, you really can't go wrong. Follow these simple steps for a yummy salad.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Romaine lettuce
  • Bacon
  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Green apples
  • Salad dressing of your choice
  1. Step 1

Cook bacon and let it sit on a paper towel to drain the grease.

  2. Step 2

Boil the egg in a pot of water for approximately 15 minutes. After it is ready, let it cool and chop it up into cubes or slices, whichever you prefer.

  3. Step 3

Meanwhile, wash and dry lettuce as best you can. Chop lettuce into bite-size shreds. Put it into a large bowl to hold the salad.

  4. Step 4

Cut the apple into small, bite-sized cubes and place on top of lettuce.

  5. Step 5

Add the egg into the salad.

  6. Step 6

Wash tomatoes and place some into the salad.

  7. Step 7

Chop or crumble bacon into small pieces and sprinkle onto the salad.

  8. Step 8

Add a salad dressing of your choice, toss a bit, and voila! A delicious chopped salad right in front of you!

Tips & Warnings
  • Shredded cheese may be added to enhance flavor.
  • Apples can be substituted with pears.
  • You can also add nuts and dried fruit (e.g. raisins, cranberries) to make it fancier.
  • Try a vinaigrette dressing. It's surprising how well it goes with the various flavors in the salad.
