How to play a perfect pulloff on your guitar

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Guitar
  1. Step 1

    See Hand Diagram before performing pulloff exercise.

  2. Step 2

    With your #1 finger Firmly press down the 7th fret on the B string (2nd thinnest string).

  3. Step 3

    With your #2 finger, firmly press down the 8th fret on the B string. Note: do not release your #1 finger.

  4. Step 4

    Pluck the B string. You will hear a G-note.

  5. Step 5

    Release your #2 finger downwards (towards the thinnest string). You will now hear an F#/Gb note. Do not lift up with your #2 finger, move it down. When you release, you will be plucking the string with your #2 finger.

Tips & Warnings
  • The exercise above can be applied to any two notes on any string, give that they are within the reach of your fingers.
