Everyone knows that fish are attracted to light. Something about light triggers a reflex in fish that make them want to bite it. That is why glow-in-the-dark fishing lures are so effective. They also make night fishing a whole lot more productive.

Instructions

    Glow-in-the-Dark Worm Lures

  1. Step 1

Purchase worm plastic and molds. You can find these at a sporting goods store or online at Barlow's Tackle Express (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Buy glow in the dark paint and powder. You can purchase these online at Ready Set Glo (see Resources below).

  3. Step 3

Melt the worm plastic in a melting pan with a spout. Heat it slowly over low heat so you don't scorch it.

  4. Step 4

Add coloring to the worm plastic if you desire. Stir in the glow-in-the-dark powder when the mixture is melted and after adding the color.

  5. Step 5

Allow the mixture to cool a short time. Stir it, then pour into the plastic worm mold to make your lure. Allow it to form overnight.

  6. Glow-in-the-dark Bobbers

  7. Step 1

Purchase plastic minnows or chubs with a hard body. You can find these at any sporting goods store.

  8. Step 2

Stir together 1 ounce of glow-in-the-dark powder with 3 ounces of clear paint. The paint must be clear in order for the glow-in-the-dark powder to shine through.

  9. Step 3

Use an airbrush with the widest #5 needle you have. If the needle is too narrow it will clog up continuously. Clean it good after each use.

  10. Step 4

Allow the minnows or chubs to dry thoroughly. Expose them to UV light to activate the glow-in-the-dark powder and they are ready for fishing.
