Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Schedule your vacation time around conferences or conventions. You can deduct a portion of your travel expenses for business related travel, while getting to enjoy some of the pleasures of the great places you go.
Step2
Sign up for the harvest. Each year farmers across America hire workers to help with harvesting. This is a fabulous opportunity to see parts of the country you haven't seen while paying for your daily room and board.
Step3
Volunteer for mission or relief trips. Although these are some of the hardest working vacations you'll ever take, they do give you the opportunity to experience life in another part of the world. Stopping at great ports of call en route can be a wonderful side benefit to this type of travel.
Step4
Become a travel nanny. Traveling with families for child care is a great way to see the world while working. Make sure you only travel with families you know and that you have a written contract with. This will ensure that you and your employer know what your duties are and what expenses they are responsible for.
Step5
Work as a travel nurse. Nurses are in high demand across the country. Sign up with your local travel nurse program to work for short periods of time in other cities.
Step6
Teach college summer school in a new town. If you are a teacher, your summers are your own, but you still need a paycheck. Look for opportunities to travel while teaching in the summer.
