After learning the usage of body positioning techniques soldiers must learn to put them into use in Modern Army Combatives. Practical exercises and training are necessary to fully train anyone in the effective use of their own body as a weapon. Here are few steps to teach you to use body positioning moves in Modern Army Combatives.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Find ways, such as moving your knee into your opponent's stomach while passing the guard and striking him, to quickly dispatch your opponent while moving from one position to another.

  2. Step 2

    Stay alert for ways to turn your opponent and get his back while never sacrificing your own back, or letting him get a hold of one of your joints.

  3. Step 3

    Try to get your opponent in north-south position, with him on his back with your head towards his pelvis and his head under your stomach. Drive your elbows back into his armpits to prevent his escape.

  4. Step 4

    Adjust your attacks as the enemy tries to maneuver on you, as he moves he will invariable leave open an avenue of attack.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stay calm and relaxed while fighting this helps to conserve your strength, allow your opponent to wear themselves out this makes them easier to fight.
  • Keep your thumbs and fingers protected by keeping your fingers tucked while grappling. It is easy to break a finger and the shock and pain of this could give your opponent the opening they need to finish you off.
  • Practicing Combatives without an experienced, qualified instructor can lead to injury.
