Street Fighter II HF is one of the classic arcade fighting games. 2 players battle one another in kung-fu style combat, trying to knock one another out. Mastering combos or special moves is key to being a strong combatant in Street Fighter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Control your character's movement with the left analog stick or D-Pad. Press up on this control to jump and down to crouch. Press up and over (diagonal) and you will jump in that direction. Use "X" to throw a weak punch, "Y" for a medium-power punch and pull the left trigger for a powerful punch. Kick lightly with "A," perform medium-strength kicks with "B" and pull the right trigger to unleash a powerful kick.

  2. Step 2

Protect yourself from enemy attacks by pressing away from the opponent and down on the left analog stick to crouch and block. Try to block an attack, and then quickly counter while the opponent is recovering from his blocked attack.

  3. Step 3

Watch the progress of the fight by monitoring the health bars on the top of the screen. The bars have the name of the player they represent underneath them. When a bar completely fills with red, that player is knocked out and loses the round.

  4. Step 4

Win a match by winning 2 rounds against an opponent. Each match is played the best of 3 rounds. This gives you a chance to recover from a fluke attack that causes you to lose a single match.

  5. Step 5

Fight your opponent by inflicting damage while avoiding their hits and maintaining your own health. Execute blocks, combos and special moves to make the battle easier.

  6. Step 6

Learn the special moves of any player you use. Knowing these moves will allow you to best nearly any opponent. The special moves inflict great damage in rapid succession. A successful combination attack can remove nearly half your opponent's health in seconds.

  7. Step 7

Watch the round timer at the top middle of the screen. If time runs out, the player who has the most health wins the match. If the round is about to time out, a good strategy is to unleash a flurry of attacks if you have less health than your opponent. If you are ahead in the round, simply block and counter to run the last few seconds off the clock.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look out for opponents who "juggle" you. They attack with a move that incapacitates you for a second, and then continue to attack until you are knocked out. To counter this strategy, make your player crouch and block as soon as you stand. Immediately counter-attack your opponent before he realizes what has happened.
