There's nothing better than relaxing in a hot bath tub after a long day to relax your muscles, except maybe luxuriating in one filled with bath crystals. Homemade bath crystals can be full of benefits for sore aching muscles and removing toxins from your body, as well as containing relaxing or stimulating scents.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Put a half-cup of Epsom salts in a mixing bowl. You can also use coarse rock salt. The salt is loaded with magnesium, which is excellent for easing tight muscles.
Step2
Add sea salt. This can be purchased at the grocery or health food stores. Sea salt is optional, but it is great for getting rid of toxins.
Step3
Stir in 1/4 cup of borax to soften your skin.
Step4
Add any fragrance you like, even perfume. Some prefer natural essential oils or fragrance oils. Put in more than you think is necessary. Once it smells as strong as you like, put that much more in because the bath water will dilute the scent.
Step5
Mix the ingredients together with a stainless steel whisk.
Step6
Pour into jars or glass bottles. Do not use plastic jars because the plastic absorbs the fragrance. Baby food jars are about the right size.
Step7
For color, use something natural instead of food coloring, which will take away from the benefits you just added. Pour several tablespoons into a steaming bath and enjoy.
