After lots of rehearsal, your band is ready to explode onto the music scene and it's time to let people know who you are and how you sound. This can be accomplished by preparing a professional promo pack.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Get a binder with pockets and brads. Put an 8 by 10 glossy photo of the band inside. The photo should contain the band's name, website address, and a contact phone number. Most digital photo editing software will allow you to do this yourself, or you can pay a professional.
Step2
Get a logo for your band name. People are visually oriented. Making sure your logo is eye catching goes a long way toward getting them to remember your name.
Step3
Include a demo CD of at least 3 songs. Extra effort should be made here to ensure that the CD is a quality recording. Be consistent and imprint the same branding of your band name and logo on the CD. Be sure to include your website and phone number on it.
Step4
Include a business card, with the same branding and logo and the same contact information.
Step5
Prepare bios on each band member. Write as though you are speaking to a friend and use humor as much as possible.
Step6
If you are a cover band, provide an accurate song list of the material you play. If you play all originals, provide some explanation of your compositions, including how you wrote or produced them.
Step7
Include a few extra photos from some of your live performances. Not just of your band performing, but of audience members dancing, clapping and having a great time.
