Tips & Warnings

  • If you're worried that your ex will start harassing you by phone consider getting your phone number changed.

  • Don't get caught up with calling names and discussing the negative points of your relationship. The purpose of a phone break up is to avoid these confrontations.

  • Avoid using this method if you still have deep feelings for your partner or just want to take a short break to cool things off. Once you break up with someone by phone there is no going back.

Breaking up over the phone reflects as poorly on those who do it as anything possibly could. It demonstrates a deep selfishness that serves only to illustrate the partner being left behind is better off.
