Reduce Earwax Buildup Naturally

Some people build up earwax quickly. There are no definitive reasons, although diet and genetics contribute. When there is too much wax in your ears, loss of hearing, pain, ringing and a sense of fullness can result. There are natural remedies for ear wax buildup that are easy to administer at home.

Instructions

    • 1

Start cleaning the ears with a damp cloth only on the outside of the ear. A good rule of thumb is to never place anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.

    • 2

Place a few drops of olive oil in the ear, and then let the earwax come out gradually while laying on your side. This is most effective if done 3 to 4 times a day for 10 to 15 minutes.

    • 3

Make a vinegar water and peroxide solution and warm it to body temperature. Drop it in the ear canal to soften the wax.

    • 4

Drop baby oil into the ear once or twice a week if the wax is painful and hard. Continue until the problem is resolved.

    • 5

Stand under the shower and let water flow into the ear after using any of the drops. Do this once a month.

Tips & Warnings

  • If any of the drops cause itching or irritation, discontinue them.
