Peer to peer (P2P) networking is commonly used for finding information on the Internet. Napster was probably the first big name in this area, but others have new software to provide more P2P networking. LimeWire is one of the later packages and it lets you customize its look by installing a new skin.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the Skins Gallery on the LimeWire site. Select any skins you like and download them to your computer. You can store many skins on your computer and switch between them.

  2. Step 2

Open LimeWire and select "View" from the top menu. Then select "Apply Skins." This will give you the option to "Get More Skins" or "Refresh Skins." This is an alternative to performing Step 1. Selecting "Get More Skins" takes you to the Skins Gallery at LimeWire.

  3. Step 3

Open the View menu on the top menu bar and select "Apply Skins," which will open a cascading menu that lists all the skins that you have on your computer.

  4. Step 4

Select one of the skins. This will load that skin into LimeWire. Now your new skin is ready to go.
